Adjustments and not-so-free lunch

So Keith and I are still getting the hang of an emptier parking lot at work these days. It's only a humbling reminder of what is to come for us... *sigh*

However to brighten things up and I guess bring up morale our department fed us lunch today! It was hamburgers and/or hotdogs. Yummy! I grabbed two hotdogs since the wait for the burgers was too long (apparently they didn't cook enough burgers early enough... but oh well).. topped both with ketchup, mustard and cheese and one of the doggers had the privilege of being covered in chili, too... mmmmmm... baaaaad for the diet as I had a coke and a SMALL bag of nacho-cheese Doritos (sigh)... but it was soooo good!

Now this part is significant... I finished up my lunch (Coke and all!) before Keith even sat down! Those who know me know that is a feat in itself... usually if we start eating at the same time he's finished by the time I am halfway through, so that tells you how slow I am compared to him.. so for me to finish lunch before he even gets through the line... see?

Keith and I did go for a walk afterward, and again in the afternoon. (I then went grocery shopping a while after we got home... at Super Target so I mosied around that place for a while as I always do.) I can now justify it, right? ;) OK, I feel guilty... two chocolate-chip cookies as an afternoon snack after arriving home from work. *sigh*

The good news is that through the bad-ness on my part, eating-wise, (for the last couple of days *blush* shame on me), well at Target tonight I swear for a minute I though my jeans were going to fall right off! That has got to be a good sign, right? :giggle:

Goodbyes and Hugs

Today was a pretty sad day at work. Tomorrow is the last day of work for our basic collections department (along with a few other peeps). Those employees will move on to bigger and better things, for certain. Many of them, thankfully have managed to find other jobs and will jump right in. Others will take a severance package and start prospecting for career changes.

Of course, this gave me a flash-forward as to what I will endure come June. Our layoffs are scheduled for probably mid-late June. We are now prospecting for jobs. Yesterday I attended an "assessment" for a health insurance company and it went very well. So well, that the lady attending to us stated that they wanted to move forward with the "recruiter interview," but there were no slots for this week available. Hopefully I will hear from them shortly and get on their schedule. And hopefully they will let me start in July if they hire me and offer a decent wage, etc!

Wish me luck!

A trip to the decoration store..

... lead me to THIS cute, not-so-little item!

I'm kind of leaning toward the window sill, since it's not so cluttered... but I thought it was so cute for my 80th post! Woohoo!

Move Over, Mommy...

It's all about ME!!!

About three-quarters of the time I am on my computer, whether it be meaningless surfing, hanging out on iVillage or DAM or whatever else comes to mind, my little girl Keely will come join me, demanding I give her *all* of my attention.

Tonight, she came to me, demanding that I blog about HER.

Who could say "no" to a face like that?

Mommy, can I come to work with you and Daddy?

Daddy-Daughter chat
As you can see, this little lady is one of my off-the-chain furkids. But her sister is worse...

Refusing to cooperate for the camera. I actually caught her resting her pretty little head on the camera case, top left.
Please excuse the clutter in some of the pics. We're really bad about that. *blush*

Brrrrr...

After a week of temps in the 80's, the cold reality hit: it's still winter!

I went from wearing light clothes, even sandals and showing off my pedi (which I have yet to take a pic of- that stupid crud I got last week threw me way out of sorts!) just yesterday to wearing a sweater and my heavy jacket, and, oh yeah, fighting to keep my umbrella from turning inside-out once again. (Yes, it has done that once already. Amazingly enough it still works.)

Keith and I spent a little time outside yesterday soaking up what was left of the heat wave, including examining our one of our babies in the front yard:

Basically we went from this beautiful spring scene yesterday to the cold reality of winter (once again) today: Anyone want a messy dog? I swear, this little dude can't keep himself clean for a minute on a rainy day. The sad part? Bernie hates, yes hates, baths.(Warning: you MAY need to take something for motion-sickness before proceeding. Yours Truly can't figure out how to rotate this darn pic so you don't become ill from motion-sickness.)
DIRTY, MESSY DOG.. FREE TO GOOD HOME!! (J/K)
Oh, well... at lest we still have Daylight-Savings time! YAY DST!!!

Ah, Crud

Well it finally got me... I have the Crud. For the past couple of days I have been feeling pretty crappy so I stayed home from work in hopes of getting a little R&R.

I felt pretty good this morning but I'm starting to feel a little draggy again. Ugh. Hope this leaves soon! :(
