TGIF...

...well, almost, anyway.

What a long week it has been. I ended up buying an 8-pack of the cinnamon rolls, only to go home with 8. go figure, had I not bought any I would have had such a huge demand that people would have been asking me why I didn't bring more. Because people dont eat what I bring!

OK, maybe not a HUGE demand, but everyone knows Murphy's Law, right? Need I say more on that?

On another note, as my EDD approaches rather quickly, all I can do is wonder... where would I be now? Would I have had my baby by now? Or would I still be working and be moaning like all the other 9-month preggos about this and that aching and trying to guess if I was going to go into labor 5 minutes from now or 5 days from now... *sigh* I'm inone of those weird moods at the minute, as in "will it ever happen?" I hope this is my month. Now that the wretched witch (all you TTC'ers know who I am referring to) is gone, I can only look forward to what the future holds, once again.

Ack, I'm babbling again. Someone stop me.

Is it Friday yet?

So here I am, sitting here tonight. Not much to say.

I volunteered to bring cinnamon rolls to work tomorrow for our meeting, but I only have a tube of 5 to bake. That leaves me with a dilemma: do I buy more to bake or just buy the rest already prepared? Hmmm... I need at least eleven. Yes, eleven. It would have to be an odd number. LOL
Ah, what have I gotten myself into? I mean, I'm sure not everyone is going to want one, but I can't guarantee that! Oy. I guess I should get my butt to the grocery store and decide already- it's already past 7 here and dinner isn't even cooked. And we're trying to get away from 8-9pm dinner. Not good.

In case you're wondering how we ever got in the habit of eating dinner that late, those who know us will know that we used to eat at about 930-10 at night, thanks to a stupid schedule requiring us to work til 9pm, for two nights then turn around and get up at 8am after the second night. Unhealthy. Need I say more? The schedule change to a more normal, 8-5 hasn't helped, either. Now don't get me wrong, working til 9pm EVERY DAY isn't bad since your body can get a rhythm. But the constant switching is what messed us up. It took me a year, roughly, to get any 1/2 way normal sleep pattern going.

Anyway, I had better get to the store and decide what to do about the cinnamon-bun thing... Looks like another 8-9pm dinner for us. Crap.

Side Note...

So I have realized it is possible to edit date/time on this thing. Lookout imports from Myspace blog!

ETA: OK ladies and gents who care to read! I have posted several retro-postings with their actual dates (times are questionable) as a "get to know me" ploy. Enjoy!

A New Slate and then some

So I sit here today, AF having started. I hadn't recorded anything as for my "signs" this month, to try to relax, but that quickly backfired. In the past few days I was regretting not logging anything! So.... I won't be doing that anymore. I will log some of my more dominant "signs," at the minimum. I'll spare the TMI here, for readers who either aren't TTC or are male. ;-)

We are now headed into October full-throttle. Those who know me know why this is an important month to me. For those who don't, I should have a bag packed, and be ready to go into labor anytime. I was due October 9, by one of the many internet calculators. But I never made it to even get an official EDD from my doc, as I miscarried on Sunday (of all days of the week), February 24. My first OB appointment was to be the very next day. I still went, however what was supposed to be filled with joy and anticipation was instead filled with tears and sorrow, as I recalled the previous days' events to my doctor. The pathology results came back as a "garden-variety miscarriage," as my doc put it. My risks of it happening again are right with the general public, about oh, 20, 25%. It's still scary.

Part of me is soooooo ready to get pg again it's not even funny, but as with any TTCAM'er there's a part of me that's scared $#*^less of this happening again. We do what we can, pray it never does, that we can all go on to have healthy pgcy's afterward. Some of us do but others don't. The CL (community leader, in iVillage talk) of one of the post-m/c boards has had six. In a row. Miraculously she's still somewhat sane. Her strength is amazing. I think that would put me in an asylum. May God bless her, along with all the other women suffering, or who have suffered through, this horrible ordeal which nobody should ever have to endure.

As October arrives I can't help but to wonder who this little person would be today. There is a song, perfect for the occasion, which I was not able to listen to, even this past May. I still don't think I can bring myself to listen to it. I think it is called "Who You'd Be Today," by Brad Paisley? Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Pumpkin (my nickname for this little angel), if you're reading this, mommy misses you. Dearly.

Back to work!

So today I went back to work after a weeklong, at-home vacation with my husband, celebrating our first anniversary. Thankfully the day went quickly. However, the company I work for has clients in the Houston/Galveston, TX area (among the hardest hit by Ike), and that's one of my main areas, Houston.

About half of them on the list have no power yet and a few still remain closed. Some are closed for a couple of weeks. Even though the storm made landfall as a category 2, Ike's devastation is incredible. All I know is that I am praying for the TX coast to return to normal as soon as possible.

That ties into the anniversary celebration. We had planned to go to Houston. Unfortunately, those plans washed out (no pun intended). Evacuations to Austin and even San Antonio made even those options non-viable, as we were concerned about overcrowding. So.... we stayed home. Good choice, although not as planned. We pretty much hung out, did some errands and even painted a bedroom in the house and planted a tree and a few new shrubs. It was nice to return to work refreshed, and the new, cool weather helped.

As for the rest of things, they are pretty normal. For those who don't know us, I know you're thinking, "WTH?" LOL Well since I unfortunately can't seem to import old blogs from my Myspace (which I still have and plan to keep, if you are wondering), I will share a little of my basics here and there in my future posts.

First off, the pe(s)ts. Crazy Lizzie, Inspector Keely (cats) and Goofy Bernie (dog, sorry no pic of the pup on the puter yet but I promise I will get one). The one on the top is Lizzie ("WASH ME!") and the bottom is Keely (taken in my apartment over a year ago.. *sigh* can't find the better pics!).

I promise, I will get a picture of the dog on here... one day. Even if it kills me.

Our New Furbaby

So... yesterday we were out shopping and we got ourselves a new furbaby. Haven't named him yet, but he sure is cute:
Introducing, our new
Lamb's Ear Plant! Yes, it's actually as cuddly as it looks. And yes, I just called a plant "cuddly." Yikes. I've gone psycho.
