Eons gone by

Here we go again!!
Has it been a while or what? I can't believe it's been six months since my last post- and that 2015 is nearly half-over. Whoa.

Where to begin?

I'll start with our crazy-cold winter. Ok maybe not quite as cold as 2014's winter, as our highest gas bill was only in the $80's as opposed to the $140's. That said, we had a chance to go sledding, which rarely happens in Dallas! We bundled up, buckled up and carefully slid/drove up and down some hills over to a hill next to the middle school we live near, pulled out the hubs' old childhood sled and let it rip! I didn't get any pics of the sweeties sledding as I was busy running up and sledding down with them, but suffice to say we got in a good workout.

The girls ended up enjoying it thoroughly but we're ready to go home pretty quickly. But not before I grabbed some cool snow pics.

Snowflake, as seen on the rear side window of our car. Taken with an iPhone 5s.

As was this one.

But it's probably a good thing we didn't run around too much, as a big surprise was in store for us the next day.

Here we go again!! Baby Gummy Bear is due 10/28. Assuming baby cooperates, we will find out if our newest tornado is a lad or a lass next month.

We are very excited! 2015 is turning out to be an exciting year for us.

Good Evening.

I'll admit it's been a while since I posted. Too long. But in case I have any audience left, ;) I want to air something out.

I confess. I really don't understand folks who dislike daylight savings time. Yes, the time change is a bit grueling. But why can't we just stay on DST and forget standard time?

Pretty random thoughts tonight, but had to get it out. Observe:

Our yard at about 8:20pm central daylight time. Note how light the sky is still. In standard time, this would be only 7:20 pm.

I like my daylight! I'd never make it in Arizona. Hawaii, maybe, since it's closer to the equator. ;)

My Dear, Sweet Life... How time flies!!

I can't believe it's the middle of August already, and that being said I'm 16 1/2 weeks along already. The big U/S is set for 9/2 (not 9/4, as I probably originally reported) and hopefully we'll find out then if Snowflake is a little Miss or Mr.

I did have a dream the other day that Snowflake was a healthy baby girl, so we'll see how that goes! Historically, these dreams have been accurate for me... at least on others. Two of my aunts had babies whose sex was predicted accurately by a dream I had about them, and recently a cousin, so we'll see!

So here I sit, in awe with Snowflake and trying to decide what to do for dinner; Keith and I are horribly lazy today. The weekend has gone too quick and I won't have another real weeked for Lord-knows-how-long: I ahve to work Saturdays again. :( That's 4/5 this month (but I'm not the only one who has this kind of rotation)! Hopefully some of the perm folks there will speak up about it, though, as I don't feel very safe talking it up since I'm *just* a contractor right now. We won't go there. ;)

As for my dear Snowflake, I'm pretty sure I felt him/her move today. I was driving down the road (fortunately with DH, so I got to brag right then and there) and the band of my shorts was jabbing into my stomach a little, in just the right place where Snowflake would be. It felt like butterflies in there- it was so cool! There are a couple of other times I may have felt the LO but I'm not sure if it was just gas or not, but this one SOOOOO didn't feel like gas. YAY Snowflake!

Three Down, One to Go!

Yup, tomorrow is my Friday! :) (Maybe that's why I am feeling better today? lol) It's going to be nice to get some stuff done, and I mean STUFF! I can go grocery shopping, *maybe* interview new docs (I'm teeter-tottering on this one) and... use the spa GC that DH got me for LAST Valentine's day!

The thing's about to expire (Saturday is the last day I can use it). Every time I would contemplate what I wanted to do with it exactly something would happen to prevent me from doing so. SOOOOOO... I'm going in late Friday morning to get a pedicure- with aromatherapy! (Lord knows I need it! lol) YEAH! So I'm going to be nice and tidy up my nails a bit and take the tiny bit of worn-off polish I have left so they have a fairly clean slate to start with. I'll spare you the gross photo of what they look like now. Normally I get a French pedi, but I think I am going to go hot pink this time, do something different and BOLD. :)

Holy CR@P!

First off, I just now realized that I have hit 50 blog posts. This will be #51. Wow.

On another note... Our cute furbaby, Bernie, is apparently getting up there in years. Keith and I estimate his age to be, eh, about 15 years or so... but anyway, Keith went running earlier today, took Mr. B with him. By the end of the run (a couple of miles at least, mind you) B was running behind his daddy today during their semi-weekly run. BEHIND.

This is the same dog that I had nicknamed "Firecracker" a couple of years ago because of the way he pulled on the leash when we walked him. I opted to take his now-deceased brother, Yankee, because Bernie pulled so much on the leash- he was the type of dog who walked you, not the normal, other way around. We estimate this mutt (probably a Lab/Pit-Bull mix) to be around 15 years old, pretty old for a dog, let alone a Lab.

Then it dawned me, as DH and I drove to the pizza parlor... Yankee, his late (labrador) brother, slowed down like this probably less than a year before he passed away (a couple of months, roughly, before DH and I got married). Uggggh... I'm not a HUGE dog lover but as much as this guy (like his bro) is a pain in the @$$ I still love him...

I just hope that Bernie, well, I know this will sound/be selfish, but I hope he is still around this time next year! With what is happening with him (vs. his bro) who know but only our Good Lord.. but yikes. I hate to think about how much, or little, time this guy has before he goes Home.

One Week

Wow. It's only been a week since I again received devastating news that DH and myself weren't going to get a baby after all. Ugh. again. It feels like it was a month ago. It's gonna be a long month.

At least I have some stuff to distract me... I'm going to work at our local food bank toward the end of the month, oh yeah, *after* MLK day (which I have off from work).. Hopefully that will speed things up a little for me. Part of me wants this to be over with. Another side of me says Hey! Don't rush it! Don't rush 2009 away! I suppose the "other" part of me is right. Let me count my blessings and enjoy time with my family and DH and not take a moment for granted.

It's amazing what can change in a few days, let alone one week.

**Update: We did not amend the appointment since we decided not to go out of town. Nothing to do with this situation; just that we want to go somewhere later on in the year.
