Today was a pretty sad day at work. Tomorrow is the last day of work for our basic collections department (along with a few other peeps). Those employees will move on to bigger and better things, for certain. Many of them, thankfully have managed to find other jobs and will jump right in. Others will take a severance package and start prospecting for career changes.
Of course, this gave me a flash-forward as to what I will endure come June. Our layoffs are scheduled for probably mid-late June. We are now prospecting for jobs. Yesterday I attended an "assessment" for a health insurance company and it went very well. So well, that the lady attending to us stated that they wanted to move forward with the "recruiter interview," but there were no slots for this week available. Hopefully I will hear from them shortly and get on their schedule. And hopefully they will let me start in July if they hire me and offer a decent wage, etc!
Wish me luck!

Good luck!
My husband is a teacher and in NY you have to be tenured (after 3 years on the job your job becomes permanent) and he is not tenured yet so every spring we get a little antsy about whether his job is there for next year or not. One year it wasn't and that summer was awful; no health insurance and him scrambling for another job. It is not fun.
That does sound very promising for you! I will keep ++++ vibes flowing that you will find something before you are laid off.
Good luck!
