Time Sure Flies (another retro post from other blog)

Wow.. Time sure flies. It's been nearly six moths since Keith and I joined together in holy matrimony. And so much has happened since then. The surgery, our first Thanksgiving, our first Christmas together, a fun New Year's Eve (with the exception of going to work that day)... now this.

We started February out with the joyous news that we were expecting our first child, only to end the month with that dream taken away. I was nearly 8 weeks along when things well... went downhill, so to speak. I began spotting, and two days later that progressed into full-blown cramps, and well the rest is history. I had been waiting to tell everyone about our precious gift from God, for the most part, with a cute modification to my page, but instead, here I am, telling it like this. I am mostly doing better now, but I get my sad moments, among others.. I still want our little Pumpkin (our nickname for this baby) back, but I realize that s/he is in a better place, playing with Jesus and God and his/her grandparents and great-grandparents. In a better place, and I shouldn't be so selfish.

I did better in church yesterday than I did last week (cried my eyes out), and at the end in the announcements they had a foster family with a beautiful baby girl up there, discussing how donated goods had helped them when they acquired that baby Christmas Eve. Pumpkin spoke to me in church, I felt it in my heart, and walked over and picked a few items off the list.

From this, it can only get better. I try to see the silver linings in this.. I can have lots of junk food if I want/when I want, have a few drinks on St Patty's day. We will be ok. We will get our chance. Just have to be patient.

(Retro Post) Copied from other blog

Wow.. already a nearly a month gone by in 2008 and I am only posting my first blog. I have been just so buys with work, getting settled into my new position as a wholesale clerk and trying (unsuccessfully) to keep our house clean, and the cats in!

(Yes Lizzie just LOVES to be outside, even in this weather.) Miss Liz was on our laps last night, however, and Keith noticed what looked like blood (scabbed up) on her ear- my first thought was that her daggers needed to be trimmed (which they got) but when I noticed that it was a blotch on the top of her ear, I began to suspect that she has been getting in fights- this is AFTER catching her running through the neighbor's backyar to Lord-knows-where. I half-suspect she is starting fights with other cats- and this is a SPAYED female mind you! Argh!

But on the lighter side of things we did get our Christmas tree down, but not before getting close to midmonth. Go figure. Of course trying to start a business doesn't do much justice- found a neat online store that sells natural, safe household products, so I'm trying them out and loving them. And you can be simply a customer or choose to build your own business.. on your time. That's what I really like. But these products rock- the cleaners don't joke around and food products taste awesome. (If you want some info, message me!)

And Keith and I played golf together for the first time in months. I made great use of the pink golf balls he got me for Christmas, which turned out to be more visible than the regular white ones. Yeah! I didn't play so well, but still had fun.

And last but definitely not least, I cannot believe how fast time has flown (if I haven't said that already).. we've been married 4 months already! Of course, so much has happened since that awesome day.. our honeymoon, knee surgery for me (yippy skippy- it's doing well for those who are wondering), new job position for me, new business opportunity.. new YEAR.

I think it will be an awesome 2008 and only time will tell what it will bring us! Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to all!

Finally over THAT hurdle... (another retro post)

Well I had my surgery yesterday and it was all but fun, but much easier than I expected it to be. We had originally planned to be at the hospital at 630 in the morning to get it the hell over with but I found out at my pre-op the day before that I was put off til noon. ACK! So anyways we got there a little eary (had to be there by 1030), got checked in and only sat in the lobby for about 5 or 10 minutes or so when the "pager" thingy they gave us went off...

Went back and changed into the LOVELY gown and needle stick in the hand (I don't know which hurt more, the needle stick or having the damn thing in my hand!). They finally let Keith come in after that and he entertained me for a while as we waited. He definitely kept the anxiety at bay, right up til it was time to take me in... As they rolled me out of the little room I started crying a bit, but I think it was more from separation anxiety because of what was about to happen. They gave me my shot of Versed (sp?) and by the time I was down the hall and around the corner I was buzzing, "smiling" according to my nurse. The last thing I remember is it was freezing as hell in there and they were putting blankets on me... Then I woke up in recovery what felt like 10 seconds later. Not in a whole lot of pain then and neither am I now, thank God. The knee feels great for the most part but I have to get back to the couch to ice it again.. Think I have been away from that ice long enough now

FINALLY Winding Down?

Wow. I have had way TOO MUCH going on lately! Between orthodontic appointments to get my braces off (FINALLY!), contacting wedding vendors and tying up those infamous loose ends, I have been pretty much running around like a chicken with its head cut off (or so it feels).

THE TOP BRACES ARE FINALLY OFF! YAY! The bottoms will follow next week when that retainer comes in (they were able to make the top retainer in-house but not the bottom one).

Thankfully it seems like it's winding down a bit. Got things pretty much squared away with the photographer, the church, the reception hall/hotel, hotel reservations for the honeymoon... flowers made up (using fake flowers). Now we can relax a bit...

Then I have to go for my follow-up w/the orthopedic surgeon (which of course I am trying to coordinate with other thigns) to schedule that dreaded surgery. Today I was standing and shifting my weight around a little (perfectly normally, nothing strenuous) and my knee suddenly felt like it was going to buckle- thankfully I had it in the brace so it couldn't... then it clicked when I bent it... Must have been that damn piece of kneecap floating around in there.. YUK!

But we only have a week left now and I know it will go very fast.. Will pack for the honeymoon, get attendant gifts, finalize the rehearsal dinner... *GASP* Then come up for air. ¿Cuando completaremos esta boda? Sometime this year?
